Illinois E-filing Updates

As of July 1, 2017, e-filing is now mandatory in the Supreme Court and all five districts of the Appellate Court. In addition, all 102 trial courts are to transmit the record on appeal through e-filing to their respective reviewing court.

 

As of January 1, 2018, all civil cases shall be e-filed in the trial courts.

 

Also effective January 1, 2018, e-filing shall be mandated in the 87 counties not exempted by the Supreme Court. To ease transition, the 15 counties (listed below) exempted in the Order may continue to use their existing e-filing systems.

As of July 1, 2018, the e-filing transition will be complete and e-filing shall be mandatory in the above 15 counties which were exempted from the January 1, 2018 mandate.
